You don’t need a scuba certification or previous diving experience. We snorkel at the surface, with an experienced crew to guide you and help you feel comfortable in the water.

Jupiter is home to an incredible variety of sharks. Depending on the season, you may encounter bull, lemon, silky, dusky, sandbar and Caribbean reef sharks, great and scalloped hammerheads, tiger sharks, nurse sharks, oceanic blacktips, and more.

01 · MEET THE CREW

Check in at Harbourside

We’ll meet you on the lawn beside Pura Vida, then head to the boat together.

02 · HEAD OFFSHORE

Out into the blue

Enjoy an approximately 20-minute boat ride to the dive site.

03 · GET IN THE WATER

Meet the sharks

Once sharks are at the boat, expect 1+ hour in the water with the crew guiding your experience.

04 · BACK TO SHORE

Wrap up with a debrief

Relax on the roughly 20-minute ride back to Jupiter as we debrief the dive and talk through the day’s encounters.

Allow approximately 3 hours for the full trip. Time with the sharks depends on when they arrive and the day’s conditions.

Our professional underwater photographers and videographers take time with each guest who books a package, capturing you alongside the sharks.

Photo packages usually include around 100–250 edited images. Video packages capture encounters throughout the dive. Results and image counts vary with ocean conditions, encounters, and your comfort in the water.

Photo packages can be added at check-in. You can choose photos, video, or both. Private-charter photo or video coverage is $300 for the group.

Do I need any previous diving or snorkeling experience?

No previous shark-diving experience or diving certification is required. First-time snorkelers are welcome, and our team explains the equipment and guides you through the setup. Tell us about your swimming ability and confidence before booking so we can discuss whether the trip is a good fit.

Is this snorkeling, freediving, or scuba diving?

Our local shark trips are snorkeling and freediving experiences. You can watch the sharks from the surface with a mask and snorkel; scuba tanks and scuba certification are not required. Freediving below the surface depends on your experience and the crew’s assessment that day.

How long is the trip?

Allow approximately three hours for the trip, plus check-in before departure. Timing varies with conditions and how long it takes to locate sharks. Leave some flexibility in your plans afterward.

What equipment is included?

Masks, snorkels, fins, and wetsuits or rash guards are available on the boat. If you already own well-fitting gear that you’re comfortable using, bring it along. Contact us in advance about any particular size or equipment needs.

What happens if we don’t see any sharks?

If no sharks appear on your trip, you’ll receive a full refund. Sharks are wild, so we cannot guarantee a particular species, number of sharks, or type of encounter, but if we don’t see any sharks, your trip is on us.

What happens if Tanner Underwater cancels my trip?

If we cancel before departure, you can reschedule or receive a refund for the canceled activity. Related travel expenses are excluded. See the booking terms for details.
